A thrilling biography of the icon of youth literature - Astrid Lindgren, showing the youth and beginnings of the writer's career. The title role is boldly played by Alba August, a Danish actress known in Poland from the crime series "Hostages from the Underground".

The film was presented at the Special Gala of the last Berlinale. He also won the main prize at this year's Transatlantic.

In the biographical "Youth of Astrid", which tells the beginnings and the youth of the famous writer Astrid Lindgren (1907-2002), Pernille Fischer Christensen shows a strong, independent woman who breaks social norms and conventions and walks her life with a raised head.

Astrid and her siblings are lucky enough to grow up in their parents' pastoral farm in Vimmerby. Although their daily routine is shaped by strict religious values, their mother Hanna and father Samuel always give them a sense of security and a sense of freedom.

Astrid's parents allow her daughter to attend high school, which is basically the privilege of wealthy bourgeois children, and they do not stand in the way of an 18-year-old when the owner of the local newspaper offers her an intern in the editorial office.

Reinhold Blomberg not only introduces Astrid to the secrets of the art of writing, but also falls in love with a girl. It may seem that with reciprocity, however, when Astrid gets pregnant, she makes an important decision: she does not want to marry at such a young age, but instead decides to take care of herself and eventually her son, Lass.
